Fly to Ushuaia and transfer to the town centre for time to explore independently. Meet at the appointed time for your transfer to the pier and embark Seaventure. Attend the welcome and safety briefings as your Antarctic voyage begins.

At Sea to South Georgia
Sail towards South Georgia. Prepare for expedition activities with equipment cleaning and briefings, attend talks on polar history and wildlife, and enjoy time aboard the ship.

King George Island → Punta Arenas
Disembark at King George Island and take the approximately two-hour charter flight across the Drake Passage to Punta Arenas, Chile. Transfer to your hotel on arrival.

The Antarctic charter flight time depends on weather and will be advised by the expedition team.
Punta Arenas → Santiago
Enjoy a free morning to rest or explore Punta Arenas with your tour leader. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Santiago, then continue to your hotel.

Santiago → Valparaíso → Santiago
Tour Santiago, including a planned drive past Plaza de Armas, then visit the UNESCO-listed port city of Valparaíso. Return to Santiago and celebrate Chinese New Year’s Eve with a Chinese dinner.

Santiago → China
Transfer to the airport for your international flight home via a connecting airport. Arrival in China is expected on 8 February, the third day of the Lunar New Year.

- Passport fees.
- Visa fees and any required notarisation or authentication charges. Visa requirements and applicable fees must be confirmed for your passport and route before booking.
- Business-class upgrades on international flights, charged at the airline’s fare at ticketing.
- A 70% single-room supplement for sole occupancy, bringing the total to 170% of the applicable tour price. Please confirm the cabin and hotel arrangement in writing.
- Optional expedition activities offered at an extra charge, such as kayaking.
- Personal expenses, including mobile and satellite calls, laundry and Wi-Fi usage beyond the included allowance.
- Extra driver or guide hours caused by personal requests; meals during international flight connections or airport waiting time; meals marked as self-funded; and extra costs arising from circumstances beyond the operator’s control.
Good to Know
Booking
- A 35% deposit is required to reserve a cabin.
- The remaining 65% is payable by the deadline confirmed in writing with your booking.
- Cabin availability, occupancy arrangements, flight schedules and the final booking terms are subject to written confirmation.
Cancellation
- 211 days or more before departure: A cancellation charge of USD 1,203.01 applies. Alternatively, the booking may be transferred without a cancellation penalty to an Antarctic departure before 15 March 2028.
- 181–210 days before departure: A cancellation charge of 40% of the full tour price applies. Alternatively, the booking may be transferred without a cancellation penalty to an Antarctic departure before 15 March 2028.
- 61–180 days before departure: A cancellation charge of 80% of the full tour price applies. Alternatively, the booking may be transferred to an Antarctic departure before 15 March 2028, with costs already incurred, such as visa fees, deducted.
- 60 days or fewer before departure: A cancellation charge of 100% of the booking value applies.
- Documented visa refusal: With an official visa-refusal letter or stamp before departure, the booking may be deferred to a Newayer Travel Antarctic charter within the following two years, less costs already incurred, such as visa fees or air tickets. This provision applies only where Newayer Travel has handled the Argentina or Chile visa application or issued the air tickets.
Visas
- Entry and transit requirements depend on your passport, visas, residence status and flight routing. Confirm the current requirements for Argentina, Chile and any transit countries before booking.
- Do not rely on a visa exemption until its current conditions have been checked for your documents. Visa fees and supporting-document charges are additional.
Weather & Expedition Conditions
- Antarctic flights may depart early or be delayed because of weather. The planned flight from King George Island to Punta Arenas takes approximately two hours, but the departure time cannot be guaranteed.
- Arrangements for an early or delayed return flight, including any extra time aboard the ship or in Punta Arenas, will follow the operator’s confirmed disruption plan and the booking documents.
- Weather-related itinerary changes may incur additional costs. The programme specifies insurance cover of up to USD 3,007.52 per person for qualifying weather-related travel changes. Any claim remains subject to the actual policy, exclusions, evidence requirements and insurer assessment; reimbursement is not guaranteed. Guests must initially pay additional expenses themselves.
- All landing sites are provisional. The captain and expedition team may change landings, Zodiac outings or destinations for safety and environmental reasons, according to weather, ice and sea conditions. No particular landing site or wildlife sighting is guaranteed.
