Begin exploring Svalbard. The captain and expedition team will look for suitable fjords, glaciers, tundra sites and wildlife-viewing windows according to ice and weather conditions.

Continue cruising the Svalbard archipelago. Possible wildlife sightings include polar bears, walrus, seals, seabirds and reindeer. Zodiac cruising and landings are subject to onsite safety assessments.

Sail deeper into the high-Arctic waters around Svalbard. Sea ice, glaciers, mountains and tundra create a layered polar landscape, while lectures focus on Arctic ecology, glaciers and wildlife observation.

Cross the Greenland Sea. Sea days allow time for lectures on flora and fauna, geology, sea ice, marine mammals, climate and photography.

Enter the Kaiser Franz Joseph Fjord region in East Greenland, where icebergs, glaciers, mountains and remote wilderness form a dramatic Arctic fjord landscape.

Continue cruising or landing in the Kaiser Franz Joseph Fjord area. Depending on ice, the expedition team may navigate Zodiacs through brash ice for close views of glacier tongues, broken ice and fjord terrain.

Arrive in Scoresby Sound, a true Arctic wilderness with world-class fjords, icebergs, mountains, tundra and Inuit settlements.

Continue exploring Scoresby Sound. Look for icebergs, snow-covered mountains, tundra colors, Arctic wildlife and the culture of East Greenland communities such as Ittoqqortoormiit.

Denmark Strait

Cross the Denmark Strait toward Iceland. The sea day is a good time to review observations from Greenland, attend onboard lectures and join photography sharing sessions.

DAY 13 Aug 10

Grundarfjordur

Arrive in Grundarfjordur on the northern side of Iceland's Snaefellsnes Peninsula, known for mountains, sea views, waterfalls, coastlines and a warm small-town atmosphere.

DAY 14 Aug 11

Iceland South Coast

Disembarkation in Reykjavik and explore Iceland's south coast, including the Blue Lagoon, Skogafoss, Dyrholaey, the village of Vik and black-sand volcanic beaches.

DAY 15 Aug 12

Golden Circle and Solar Eclipse Viewing

Visit the Golden Circle and view the solar eclipse. Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss, Geysir and the eclipse-viewing window in western Iceland form the core of the day. Viewing results depend on weather.

Return from Iceland

Return from Iceland according to the flight schedule, connecting onward to China and concluding the Arctic Three Islands and solar eclipse voyage.
